The Impact beat Miami 3-1 last night. The Impact scored 3 exciting goals and the goal against the Impact was actually an own goal.
At the stadium, they have a great area for kids during the games. Syd thinks she has a personal relationship with all the mascots there...TacTic along with a team sponsor's chocolate milk mascot! She dances, hugs and holds their hand. There is also an area where kids can dribble the ball around life size posters of the players. Syd knows all the player's names so as she was dribbling past the posters, she was saying, "Hey look, there's Simon, there's Mauro and daddy!" Myles wants to get in on the action now too and was walking around and flashing big toothy smiles at everyone.
A win always feels good! The team is off for a week long road trip...to Toronto and then Rochester, NY.

Well, we’re due for an update. Sydney’s birthday celebrations were a lot of fun and lasted for about a week! It was definitely a princess themed birthday. She just loves to play dress up. A magic wand is almost always with us now. She likes to be a princess but she’s still likes to catch balls and ride her bike in her dresses so she’s not TOO girly!
All the festivals have started up again in Montreal. We went to the Jazz Festival last week and we’ll go to the Just for Laughs Festival this week. We’ve also been doing our every day things like going to the park, pool, library, cooking class for Syd, play groups, etc. The weather has been really nice so we’re outside as much as possible. We’re also enjoying having Matt’s practice & stadium so close by. We sometimes walk to his practice to watch for a few minutes and wave hi to him.
Myles is a maniac right now. I forgot how EVERYTHING changes when babies start to walk. He’s getting better balance now so his walking is a bit more controlled but he still goes at full speed. He puts his arms up straight in the air, with fists clenched and goes as fast as he can until he falls or balances himself on another piece of furniture! He learned to walk before he really learned how to stand so we’re working backwards a bit. He’s such a boy.
We’re missing family so I just wanted to add that my parents celebrated 40 years of marriage last week. Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad! Gene also celebrated a birthday last week. Happy Birthday! We love you guys so much. :)

We are celebrating Sydney's 3rd birthday today!
Here’s the latest on Sydney:
• She’s 3 ½ feet tall and almost 40 lbs now
• Insists on wearing dresses and pig tails every day
• Can still be bribed (to do most anything) with a glass of milk
• She’s obsessed with knowing our schedule…what we’re doing now, what we’ll do next and what she’s going to wear tomorrow.
• She’s always willing to sing songs to Myles and will take requests!
• She loves bringing her sand toys to the park but she likes to micro-manage how other kids play with them, more than she actually likes to use them.
• She plays “teacher” to Myles. She is always telling him different words in French. Of course (we think) this is all pretend. Her favorite made up word is “patito”. She has many meanings for that word. It’s often food or whatever toy she happens to be holding. She says “Now Myles, repeat after me…patito.”
• If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she gives a different answer each time. This week she wants to be a hockey player and an astronaut.
• She is precocious, enthusiastic, energetic, dramatic, always lovable…and three years old! I can’t believe it!

The differences between girls and boys has been never more evident to us than it was this week. We remember when Sydney learned to walk; she was very cautious. She mastered balancing and standing up FIRST, before walking. Not so with Myles! He barely was standing up on his own before he took his first steps. He didn't take just a couple steps at first...he started out with 5 or 6 steps all at once, at full speed! He's all boy! It's been amazing, fun and scary to watch him!
Some fun facts about Mr. Myles:
Just turned 10 months old
Could live on kiwi and blueberries alone
Latest nicknames: kamakazi walker and Love Button
Still must chew on one book while you're reading another
Loves the "I'm gonna getcha" game
Belly laughs at sneezes and peek-a-boo
Latest dance move: The head bop
He's always willing to give slobbery kisses
Has 5 teeth now
Has a smile that melts your heart
